mike_harcourt_web.jpgLocal businesses PB Copy, Vancity and PW Trenchless were recognized today at the Surrey Board of Trade Environment and Business Achievement Award luncheon. The event also featured Michael Harcourt, former Premier of BC and sustainability and economic development advocate.

Mr. Harcourt challenged the cities and Boards of Trade of Surrey and Vancouver to create a regional economic development plan plus a marketing plan to promote the economic development opportunities that exist, plus promote both areas as not only livable cities, but sustainable cities. He said that we are missing a huge promotional opportunity with the upcoming Olympic Games.

The winners of the Surrey Board of Trade’s Environment and Business Achievement Awards were:
Honorary Mention: PW Trenchless
Winner: Small Business Category: PB Copy
Winner: Large Business Category: Vancity


“These Surrey-based business have demonstrated exceptional dedication to environmental leadership and issues. They have respect for the environment and demonstrate their initiatives consistently”, said Anita Huberman, CEO Surrey Board of Trade.

The event was sponsored by Kwantlen Polytechnic University, who themselves have received several accolades for their LEED status in having a green building at their Cloverdale Campus.
