wpfg_logo_-_final.jpgThe Surrey Board of Trade was announced as a community partner of the 2009 World Police and Fire Games at the Board of Trade’s International Trade Dinner and Surrey Export Awards April 8, 2009. The Surrey Board of Trade’s role will be to promote the games to the business community in a variety of ways.

These Games, taking place this Summer, from July 31 to August 9th, has a Games family of over 40,000 people. Three of the competition sites are in Surrey, with the remaining 60+ sporting events taking place through Metro Vancouver to Whistler.

“This is a huge economic impact to Surrey, as the athletes – all police and fire representatives -  who are coming from all over the world, will be spending their money in Surrey and Metro Vancouver. They will be crossing our borders and staying in Surrey. There are opportunities for local businesses to sell their products and services. I encourage businesses to go to the BC Bid Website and the 2010 Commerce Center website to access formal requests for proposals for these games”, says Inde Sumal President of the Surrey Board of Trade.
